WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, Congressman Mike Rulli had the distinct honor of welcoming Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to President Trump’s inauguration. As the newly appointed Co-Chair of the bipartisan Italian American Congressional Delegation, Congressman Rulli begins his tenure with a strong focus on deepening the bond between the two nations.
Prime Minister Meloni, who made history in 2022 as Italy’s first female prime minister, has been a prominent advocate for fostering international cooperation. Notably, she was one of a select few heads of state to attend President Trump’s inauguration.
Congressman Rulli and Prime Minister Meloni discussed the importance of strengthening U.S.-Italy relations and emphasized their shared commitment to advancing diplomatic, cultural, and economic collaboration.
“The Prime Minister’s unwavering dedication to strengthening the bond between our two nations is truly inspiring,” said Congressman Rulli. “I am eager to collaborate with my colleagues in Congress and Italian leaders to forge a deeper, more dynamic partnership that benefits both the United States and Italy.”
The Italian American Congressional Delegation (IACD) is a bipartisan, bicameral caucus committed to strengthening the relationship between the United States and Italy. It consists of nearly 200 Members of Congress, many of whom, like Rep. Michael Rulli, have Italian ancestry.
U.S. Representatives Mike Rulli (R-OH-06) and Rosa DeLauro (D-CT-03) will serve as bipartisan Co-Chairs of the delegation, with U.S. Representatives Jimmy Panetta (D-CA-19) and Andrew Garbarino (R-NY-02) serving as Co-Vice Chairs.
