Earlier this week, Congressman Mike Rulli (OH-06) delivered on his promise to strengthen our communities by securing nearly $12 million in federal funds for infrastructure projects throughout the Ohio Valley. These long-awaited investments will address pressing local needs, strengthen essential public infrastructure, and improve quality of life for families in Eastern Ohio. Secured through sustained advocacy and close coordination with local leaders, these funds will deliver real, on-the-ground results for communities that have gone too long without adequate federal support. The following projects will directly benefit towns and neighborhoods across the district:

$3,840,000 for Belmont County

Improving safety and traffic flow at the Blaine Barton Road and US 40 intersection, adding pedestrian access to the Historic Blaine “S” Bridge, and enhancing access for residents and emergency services east of the bridge.

$1,198,000 for Cadiz

Completing Phase 3 of the Village’s Water System Improvement program, replacing deteriorated lines and eliminating all remaining lead from the public water system.

$1,500,000 for Boardman Township (Mahoning County)

Expedites completion of US 224 corridor improvements, addressing a high-crash area and improving traffic management by adding sidewalks, turn lanes, upgraded signals, and safer pedestrian crossings.

$1,062,500 for Mead Township (Belmont County)

Replaces the township hall, provides office space, meeting areas, document storage, and garage bays for federally funded vehicles. The new building will be handicap accessible and serve as an EMA heating and cooling center for the community.

$950,000 for Lisbon

Replaces a failing sewer line along N Market Street/State Route 45, completing Phase 10 of the Village’s Long Term Control Plan.

$800,000 for Struthers

Increases capacity and improves outflow quality at the wastewater treatment facility, unlocking future development in the Valley and allowing Struthers to better serve their citizens.

$750,000 for Wellsville

Replaces the State Route 45 water tank built in 1933 which is the only source of water for the Village, alleviating fire suppression and sanitary concerns.

$700,000 for Steubenville

Addresses foundation damage and prevents collapse or condemnation of their Wastewater Treatment Administration Building, protecting employees and critical equipment.

$600,000 for Dover

Increases sewer capacity to prevent overflows during storms and prepare the City’s northern corridor for planned development.

$500,000 for Scio

Completes the final phase of their waterline replacement plan, eliminating lead from the public system and bringing it into compliance with EPA standards.

“I love the small communities in our district, and over the past several years I’ve spent countless hours listening to the very real challenges our families face,” said Rep. Rulli. “For far too long, our critical infrastructure needs have gone unfunded. I’m proud of the work my office has done to finally deliver these long-overdue investments. From upgrading water and sewer systems to making our roads safer, these projects will strengthen our communities, protect public health, and lay the foundation for future growth. They deliver real, tangible results for the people of our district, and I will continue fighting every day to bring resources home for Ohio families.”
